Web app development services include the development of bespoke PHP and MySQL based software, SaaS products, databases and dedicated tools to support your organisation.
Progressive Web App Development
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are built using standard website technology. Where they differ is that they’re ‘installable’, which makes them appear more like native apps on phones or tablets. The benefits of PWAs is that that can offer a more resilient experience to the user. Things like network issues can be handled better, rather than the user just being shown a ‘page cannot be displayed’ error. Progressive Web Apps make a great option of organisations looking to offer their audience an app-like experience where access to device hardware isn’t required.
Bespoke Web Applications
There’s nothing fundamentally different between a website and a web application. Web applications are simply websites designed to offer a certain combination of functions to support the work of an organisation (or organisations). Web applications can be open for anyone to use, such as platforms like AirBnB or eBay. Or they can be built for a particular organisation, with limited or zero access to others.

I’ve built several web applications over the years, both open and restricted access. Web applications can help organisations improve their workflow, making things more efficient, or connecting systems together to bring additional value.
Case Study: Hello Church
Hello Church makes it easy to stay organised, manage day to day tasks and communicate effectively. It’s a Progressive Web Application which runs much like a native app on a smartphone. It can also be used in the browser on a desktop or laptop computer, or tablet.

Hello Church is a project which began life during the pandemic as a simple tool enabling church leaders to share simple online service plans with their congregations. I’ve since re-built it from the ground up, adding in a wide range of helpful tools, including:
- Contacts
- Groups, roles and rotas
- Email communication
- Calendar and event planning
- Document storage and sharing
- Audio library and podcast publishing (via YouTube)

Got a Project in Mind?
Perhaps you’ve been thinking about building something similar. A tool or suite of tools for a particular purpose, which is easy to use on any internet-connected device and feels more like an app than a website? If so, why not get in touch and let’s talk through what’s involved in getting your project off the ground.
