Week Notes – 25th April 2025

Monday

I’ve generally always worked Bank Holidays, unless we’re actually away somewhere. And this was no different. Managed to get on top of a load of odds and ends which had been hanging around in my inbox, including:

• Fixing some issues for CJS which had occurred as a result of upgrading their hosting to PHP 8.3 and Perch Runway 3.2
• Tidied up a couple of new product brochures for BeeVital
• Added a load more content to Aislaby Lodge Cottages website to support SEO
• Wrote a draft Spring Update email for my clients
• Dealt with a load of email

Tuesday

• Updated email templates for ChoiceMortgages email funnel and activated it
• Spent the morning re-working a WordPress plugin I’ve been working on for MDS following communication with the original developers last week
• Built a blog section for the Hillcrest website
• Created an email for Aislaby Lodge, offering 10% off for bookings made during May
• Started work on a new site for Native Wisdom

Wednesday

• Created a carousel post for Choice Mortgages
• Merged my MDS WordPress plugin changes into a GitHub repo
• Continued to develop the new Native Wisdom site, content, products and plugins all migrated
• Had a chat with Bill about Ladycross

Thursday

• Tackled a few odd jobs which had landed in my inbox this week
• Built a new RSS feed for CJS, specifically for outdoor education training opportunities
• Podcast time (37 Signals)
• Launched the new Native Wisdom website & made some plans for its future development

Friday

• Helped a long-time friend and customer with some smartphone and laptop queries (Google Photos, Outlook, backup solutions)
• Reviewed a website’s SEO and UX as a sub-contractor for local marketing firm
• Updated the Made in Whitby ‘Makers Map’ for 2025
• Had a Zoom meeting with the Whitby Lit Fest steering group
• Created and scheduled social media posts for Choice Mortgages for May
