posr.co Camera – Some Notes

This post is old. It may contain broken links, missing images and incorrect information.

My Raspberry Pi based camera has just returned home after a weekend at the Staithes Festival. It worked really reliably the the duration of the event, recording 122 animated GIFs and uploading each to the internet – the results can be viewed here:

Some notes, including ideas for future development:

  • Present URL before upload – to prevent long delay if internet connection is slow (as in Staithes)
  • Display image/animation on screen during upload process
  • Use larger display to show a countdown and potentially other information (upload status etc)
  • Provide clearer instructions
  • Save to USB memory stick as backup/instead of online
  • Add bleeper for audio feedback
