Plain English Translations of Web Words

This post is old. It may contain broken links, missing images and incorrect information.

I know, I am as guilty as the next website developer to start off a conversation promising not to lose the other party in a stream of technical jargon and never quite succeeding.  We’ve all been in discussions which go way over our heads and come out the other side thinking “I don’t understand most of what you just said”.

To that end, I’ve started creating a Glossary of Terms; a page which contains a list of words and phrases you may hear (or read) me, or other web people using, but don’t feel you understand.

If you read the glossary and would like another word or phrase adding with an explanation, please get in touch and let me know – you certainly won’t be the only person wishing you knew what website hosting is for or what cloud computing actually means.
